Take the Weekend Challenge

       

Take the Challenge. Beate Jones has these amazing challenges on her website. Her website is Fresh and Fun. Check it out to see her work and challenges. Every weekend, she submits a new challenge for us to follow. She provides a template and then you use it as a guide. This was the first time that I took the challenge. I used the above template and this is what I came up with. It was alot of fun and I will do this again in the future.

I used Kraft cardstock as my base. Then I layered it with Blue Bayou. I used the Designer Series Paper Western Sky. Since it's double sided, I used one side for the base(the red) and then used the other side which is the stripes. I used my Crop-a-Dile, large pewter eyelets, and added them to the top left corner. I then stamped  the cake from Birthday Whimsy(Sale-a-Bration set) with Soft Sky onto Whisper White. I used my Ruby Red marker to add flames to the top of the candles. I then layed this onto Blue Bayou. You can't tell from the picture but I popped up the cake image with Stampin' Dimesionals. I then glued this on top of the stripe paper. I stamped "Happy Birthday" with Basic Black.  Volia, my card for the Weekend Challenge.

Other: Large Pewter Eyelets, Crop-a-dile, Stampin' Dimesional, Ruby Red marker
