Weekend Challenge # 50

It's been a busy day around here today. We had soccer practice this morning, clean the house in afternoon, and finished cementing the deck after supper. We had quite the Thunderstorm come thru this afternoon and with it we had hail. It just came down in buckets.

I had a chance tonight to work on Beate's sketch for this week. The colours that I used for my card were sitting on my table as I had used them for my Pre-Sketch layout challenge for Got Sketch101. I really like the colour combo, as it's colours that I don't use often together. I combined Real Red, Night of Navy, So Saffron and River Rock. I really like this years In-Colours and I'm going to miss them when they are gone in August. I think I will have to stock up on some of the colours card stock pkgs.

Using the Live your Dream stamp set, I colour the flowers using Real Red and Old Olive markers.I stamp the flowers twice and cut out a set. I then popped them up on top of the flowers on the card. I left the card blank as I thought it would be great for any occasion.

Recipe: Live Your Dream stamp set, Real Red, Night of Navy, So Saffron, River Rock and Very Vanilla card stock, River Rock Designer Series Paper, Real Red and Old Olive markers.

Here is sketch.

Enjoy your day,

My Girls...

Finally, I was able to scrapbook for myself the last few days. I have been working on this sketch by Valerie Salmon. Valerie and her friend Janna Wilson have introduced this On-line class called Got Sketch 101. Check it out at Their on-line class community is a happening place with lots of chatting going, challenges, and of course the chance to meet new friends around the world. I have join this class and hope that you do to . I'm looking forward to the class starting on June 9. You can view all the details about this program on their Got-Sketch website. Let them know you heard about the program thru me.

I know with myself it's always easier to start with a sketch and design your layout from there. With this class you will have the opportunity to do just that. They have lots of cool surprises for us. I can't wait to find out what they are!!

Here is my layout. My goal this year is to be in more pictures with my family. I always seem to be the one taking the pictures.

I love how this layout turned out. As these are colours that I normally wouldn't work with. I wanted a bright layout to go with the colours in our clothes.

Recipe: Wild Wasbi, Brilliant Blue and Pumpkin Pie card stock, Jersey Shore Designer Series Paper, Corner Rounder Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1" Circle punch, 3/4" Square Punch, Buttons, Quickutz Dies, Wild Wasbi Double Stitched Ribbon, Live Your Dream Stamp Set and Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware.

We are off to soccer soon, as Alison has a game. At least tonight it's not raining and freezing cold out.

Enjoy the rest of your evening,

Ribs anyone??

Happy Memorial Day to all my friends in the USA. I hope that you are enjoying your long weekend!!

Every year in our subdivision we have a RIB-FEST with our neighbours. It all started about 3 years ago when we decided to have supper with our neighbours' Darrell and Betty-Ann, and her parents. Well, word got around and the last 2 years we have had over 15 families, 15 different kinds of ribs and lots of food!!

This year we vote for the best RIBS. Our neighbour Darrell and I won for the best lip-smacking ribs!!

Here is a layout that I created to remember that fun day.

I'm off to help with the deck.

Have a wonderful night!

Deck Progress

Well, we just finished working on the deck and we managed to get alot done this weekend. Yesterday we spent the day digging up sod and today we dug post holes. We even manage to put cement in 4 of the post holes.

Since I was helping with the deck most of the day, I didn't have time to work on anything today.

Here is some pictures of weekend.

This is what our backyard look like yesterday morning.

This is what it looks like now.

I plan to work on some scrapbooking pages this week.  I will show you my layouts when I have them done.

Have a great night,

2 Challenges in one

I decided to combine this weeks Splitcoast challenges into one. This weeks colour challenge was to use Certainly Celery, Soft Sky and Blue Bayou.

I thought I would used these colours with Beate's weekend sketch. I wanted to make this card fun so I decided to add a shaker box.

I coloured the flower petals from Live your Dream stamp set with a blender pen and Blue Bayou ink, and the stem was done using Certainly Celery markers and stamped onto Whisper White card stock. The circles were cut out with my Nestablitlites dies. I then punch out a 1 3/8 circle in the middle of the Certainly Celery card stock and cover it with a transparency piece. I then added Dimensional dots all around the circle(to make a wall) and added micro beads. I then adhere the flower circle piece onto the Certainly Celery piece. Now you have created a cute little shaker box.

Here is the Weekend Sketch.

Sorry this post is so late tonight. We have been working on our deck this afternoon and into the evening. We had to dig up all the sod so that we can level out the dirt for the deck base. I'm sure I will pay tomorrow morning with my back for hauling all the sod into a pile. I will have pictures to show you tomorrow of all us on working on this stage of the deck.

Have a wonderful night!

More Recipe Tins to show you

Yahoo, it's Friday!!  It has been a crazy week around here at our house. I'm looking forward to the weekend for some R&R time. I'm not sure how much R&R I will get as we are building a deck in our backyard. So hopefully the weather cooperates and we get started on it.

Here are a few more photo's on the Recipe Tins.

This tin was designed by Karen. She chose the Fall Flowers Designer Series Paper. When I see this paper it reminds me of all the gorgeous fall colours.

This tin was designed by Norma G. She chose the Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper and went with the orange pattern. It screams "SUMMER FUN"

This tin was designed by Nichole. She chose the Cutie Pie Designer Series Paper. Love those soft colours!!

This tin was designed by Sarah. She chose the Spring Silhouettes Designer Series Paper. Love the colour combo of Soft Sky and Wild Wasbi!!

Ellen and Diana took their tins home to finish working on them. Hopefully they will take a picture and I can show case their creations on my blog also. Let us know what you think of these gorgeous tins

Have a wonderful day and hug the ones that you love!!

Stampers 6 #2

Well, last night was my Stampers 6 night with Karen, Norma, Jade, Michelle, Sarah and Judy, These ladies are a great bunch of gals and all they do is laugh.

I wanted to focus on one stamp set this month "Close as a Memory" and our famous markers. I wanted to show them how to use the markers on our stamps set, different techniques that you can do with the markers and that each stamp set can be used in other ways. I really like the flower stamp set in this set and show them that it would make great birthday card. Some of the ladies made birthday cards and Sympathy card.

I wanted to show them how to do the Rock and Roll technique with the markers. We coloured the flowers with Pale Plum and outlined with Perfect Plum. Gave a little huff on the stamp to re-moisten and then stamped on Very Vanilla. This creates a 2-tone look. We also used the Perfect Plum marker to colour on the White Ribbon.

Recipe: Mellow Moss, So Saffron, and Very Vanilla card stock, Pale Plum, Perfect Plum and Mellow Moss markers, Close as a Memory stamp set and White ribbon.

We used the ticket corner punch to punch the corners. We just colour the flowers using Pink Passion and Pixie Pink markers.

Recipe: Pretty in Pink, Pink Passion, and Whisper White card stock, Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, and Certainly Celery markers, Certainly Celery ribbon and the Ticket Corner Punch.

Here we used the markers to colour in the saying and the flowers.

Recipe: Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa and Very Vanilla card stock, Close as a Memory stamp set, Bashful Blue, Old Olive and Close to Cocoa markers.

Here we also coloured the flowers, and saying using markers.

Recipe: So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, and Almost Amethyst card stock and markers, Chocolate Chip ribbon and Close as a Memory stamp set.

There are so many different ways that you can use the markers in your scrapbooks. My markers are a staple in my supplies. Take the challenge and use your markers today.

If you are looking to add to your marker inventory, I have the club for you. Ask me how the Marker Club works. I have a few ladies that are interested in this club and looking for a few more to join. This club will run for 4 months, and by the end you will have a full set of markers with the carrying case.(A value of $175) You will also earn free hostess stamp sets and FREE product. Email me at to find out more about this great club. I will have a small gift for those who join the Marker club..

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!
