Happy New Year's Eve my friends,

We are celebrating the New Year with a bunch of our neighbour's, and I'm looking forward to spending time with my friends.

SCS Sketch and Love you Much Bundle

Happy Day my friends,

Yesterday Mr. Brown stopped by with a box full of my preorder from the New Spring and Summer catalogue. I can't wait to show you my projects using the some of the new stamp set and Designer Series Paper.

I was excited to see my Valentine's Love You Much Bundle but sad to see that the stamp set is on backorder. I only received the new Heart to Heart punch, and the new YUMMY Candy Lane Designer Series Paper. I was on my Demonstrator website and read that they sold 9000 preorder's Bundle to demonstrator's this month. So they need to restock the stamp set and designer series paper again. They said it would ship within the next week. This bundle is a great deal as you are saving 20% of the retail price from Dec 23 to Jan 31, 2009. The regular price is $62. 85 and you can purchase it for only  $50.28. Wow, what a deal!! I will be doing a class with this set at the end of January. Watch for details soon.

I made this card using the New Heart to Heart punch and the Candy Lane paper. I plan on stamping a sentiment at the bottom when my stamp set comes in. I made this card using SCS card sketch challenge # 208.

Our Creative Corner Challenge

Happy Monday my friends,

I spent some time this weekend updating my blog. I have separated all the categories on the side so that it will be easier for you to find promotions, catalogues, Mini's and so much more. This way each one is under it's own title. I also added two new items to my side bar. The first one is you can sign up for my monthly newsletters. This will tell you what's happening in my studio that month, upcoming classes, crops and promotions. The other feature is that you will be able to click on my Studio calendar and seeing what's happening that month in my studio. I hope you like the new features and let me know what you think.

I have decided that one of my stamping goals for the New Year is to challenge myself with card sketches, layouts sketches, new techniques and to try out new things. I feel that challenges are a great way to add to personal growth and it makes you think outside your creative zone.

So the first challenge that I'm going to try out this year is Our Creative Corner weekly challenges. OCCC's challenge this week was to add something clear to your project. Since I need to work on some Valentine's Day cards for my display board in my studio, I thought this would be a great start.

First, I stamped the mouse image from Happy Heart's day set onto Acetate and onto a piece of Riding Hood Designer Series Paper scrap. I then cut out the heart from the Acetate, flower and shirt from the Riding Hood Red piece.

 I was so excited to find out the I could cut and emboss my Nestabilities die with my BIG SHOT machine. This just opened up a whole new world of possibilities!! I'm so excited. After, I stamped the mouse image on my Very Vanilla piece of card stock. I paper pieced the shirt on the mouse, using the Riding Hood Red. I glued on the Actetate heart to the Very Vanilla card stock and then the paper piece flower onto the heart. I added a dot of crystal effects to the center of the flower. Let me know what you think??

 

Recipe: Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla and Riding Hood Red card stock, Riding Hood Red Prints paper, Scallop Square Nesties, Square Nesties, Happy Heart's Day stamp set, Acetate, and Crystal Effects.

Eastern Blooms Card

Hello my friends,

After a few days off, I'm missing my stamp space and I'm ready to stamp away the afternoon. I'm looking forward to playing along with a few of last week's card sketches so that I can show you them this week.

My new shipment of goodies from the Upcoming Spring and Summer catalogue should be here on Monday and I can't wait. I looking forward to stamping with new rubber and the new Valentine's Love you Much Bundle. Watch for new projects in the next few weeks!!

Here is another card that I made the other day using the Maine Blueberry Designer Series Paper. Once again this was cased from Dawn and I love how it turned out. It's using my favourite Top Note Die and the Big Shot.

Loving my Nestabilities

Hello my friends,

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends. Did you receive any stamping or scrapbooking supplies in your stocking or under your tree?? I would love to hear what you got??

The one thing that my mother-in-law and sister-in-law ask for each Christmas or for their birthday is a set of handmade cards from me. Well, this year I was working on those cards that day before Christmas Eve. I was a busy elf trying to finish them up so that I could give them as gifts the next day.

I was looking for some inspiration and went to Dawn's blog. Dawn is one talented stamper and always amazes me with her work. I love how she uses different sketch challenges as a template to design her cards and how she incorporates a variety of stamping/scrapbooking supplies to achieve that desire look.

I totally case this card from her and love how it turned out!! Thank you Dawn for inspiring others!!

I had bought a few of the Nestabilities dies a while ago and thought I would try them out with this card. Wow, I'm in love with my Nestabilities again and will be using them more often. I even think they will work in the Big Shot. If you know how to do this, I would love to hear from you!!

Happy Boxing Day!!

Hello my friends,

Are you heading out shopping today for all those great Boxing Day savings or are you have a quiet day at home?? We are hanging out at home and having fun playing with our new games for the . Santa brought us the WII FIt and we are having fun Skiing, and taking the Wii fitness challenges.

I hope that you had a great Christmas and that Santa was good to you!! The girls were so excited this year and they were up at 5:00 am ready to find out what Santa brought them but we made them go back to bed till at least 7 am. I would like to share with you some of my favourite Christmas photo's from over the last few days.

Every Christmas Eve, the girls exchange gifts between them and this year they had fun shopping for each other at Build a Bear. Here they are hugging after opening their gifts....Priceless!!

    

Alison was so excited to find a Detroit Red Wings Calendar by her stocking...she is my hockey girl!! 

   

Emily was so excited to find a BAD Girl's hockey ( this is the name of her hockey team) hat under the tree for her.  

 

Here they are being silly at my parent's house before they start to open their presents.

Merry Christmas!!

Twas the night before Christmas....

and the fun begins!! My girls are so excited that both had a hard time sleeping last night and was up very early today. They just can't wait till this afternoon, so that they can hang out with their cousins. We are having Corrie's side of the family here for Christmas dinner and gift exchange. There will be 20 ( 10 adults and 10 children) all together.

The turkey is the oven, the presents are wrapped and my husband is outside digging out from all the snow that we recieved last night. We got another 30 cm of snow. I just had to take a picture to show you guys. They are saying that this is the first time since 1971 that all of Canada from Coast to Coast will have a White Christmas. I can't believe how much snow we have had in the last 4 days.

Here is a picture of the end of our driveway and Corrie blowing out all the snow!! It's as high as his knee's.

Holiday Countdown ~~ Day 1

Hello,

1 day till Christmas Eve!! Are you ready?? I spent yesterday checking some more items off my list of things to do....wrapping is done, watch our favourite Christmas cartoons with the girls, camera batteries are charged for all those special memories, and I manage to fit in some time for stamping.

On the 1st day of Christmas, my Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Anne gave to us.........

A 6 by 6 Calendar!!!

Our first Christmas with Emily which was 10 years ago( WOW, where did that go??), I made my mom and dad a photo calendar for the upcoming year with pictures of Emily from the past year. Every since then, my mom has only asked for one thing for Christmas....a calendar!!

Since I have been scrapbooking, I have been making my own calendar. This year I decided to change it up and make them a 6 by 6 Desktop calendar. I'm very please how this turn out and how quickly it came together. I hadfun using the new GO-GO Boots die cut letters to make the title for each month using the Big Shot machine. All supplies on the calendar are from Stampin' Up!!
