Mojo Monday 408 - Sneak Peak Wonderland

Happy Friday!!

I have to admit, I have been in a little bit of a funk this week! No energy or desire to create. I would walk into my room and just sit there. I have so many creative idea's floating around from convention, that I just didn't know where to begin!! I would start a project and stop mid way thru and move to something else. The problem was I wasn't getting anything accomplished!! So I decided this morning that I just need to play with my ink, stamps and paper for fun!! No creating for classes just creating for fun!!

Plus what is a better way to get the creative juices flowing is with a sketch online and new product! Yes, I was able to order a selection of new product while at Convention and this yummy box of goodies arrived last night. So I picked out a stamp set and found a sketch over at Mojo Monday and went to town create this gorgeous card!!

This week's sketch was created by Julee and she created a tall and skinny card. I decided to go with the 5.5 x 7" cut of cardstock, score long side at 3.5" for my base.

July Blog Photo's-027

I used the new gorgeous stamp set called "Wonderland" and the stunning new Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper. This new paper is double-sided designs printed with metallic ink on one side! The coordinating colours are Basic Black, Gold and Whisper White.

I decided to stay with these colours for my card. I love being introduced to old techniques that you forget about so I thought it would be fun to emboss my tree's in gold embossing powder. Did you know that embossing and watercolouring are very trendy right now!! I know that I don't use my embossing powders or heat gun enough, but I love the effect that it gives...so watch for my fun embossing projects in the future!!

Did you notice the snowing falling in the background behind the tree's? That is a new impression folder called Softly Falling!! It's a must in your collection!!

Lots of Joy Swap Card

Hello,

Wowzers, I have been dragging my butt since I got home on Sunday evening. Not sure if it's jet lag, lack of sleep or just my body saying " You need to rest after that crazy week!" So I spend most of the days on the couch, trying to catch up and relax. Plus I have been getting back into my normal eating schedule and I feel so much better today!! It's amazing how much your body misses that!

While I was at Convention, I joined Ronda Wade's Creating Success swap group. We met on Friday after lunch and I swapped with 45 talented demonstrator's. This was the first time that I did something like this and it was so much fun that I can't wait to do it again!!

The requirements were to create a card with 3 layers and an embellishment and we could use any stamp set of our choice. While I was searching for a sketch online, I came across this one on Mojo Monday. As soon as I saw the sketch I thought it would be perfect for a Christmas card!

http://mojomonday.com/Sketches/Mojo403Sketch.gif

I had the new Lot's of Joy stamp set sitting on my desk and I thought this set would be perfect for this sketch!!

July Blog Photo's-025I used the new Merry Moments Designer Series Paper as an accent piece for one of my layers! I love the colours in this paper pack as they just scream Christmas fun!!

Very careful, I inked up the bottom part of the ornament with Cherry Cobbler ink and then used a Smoky Slate marker, I coloured the hook part of the ornament. Gave a quick huff on my stamp (to re moisten the ink) and then stamp it onto my Whisper White circle! Of course, I had to finish it off with some bling and a Cherry Cobbler Twine bow!!

I will be sharing more highlights from Convention with you over the next few days!!

Convention Swap #3

Hello,

I can't believe that today is the last day of Convention! This week just flew by!! This morning I have classes and closing session till lunch time. Something new that Stampin' Up! is starting this year is they are doing a Leadership session, I'm so excited as I also wanted to go to Leadership but with work I could never get the time off.  So this afternoon I will be having lunch and a leadership training with some of other top demonstrators. I can't wait to share more with you next week!!

A quick post as we are about to head to the convention center!! My swap today is a case from yesterday's swap, I just switched up the colours!!

One of my favourite techniques right now is sponging ink on the negative side of embossed cardstock. I embossed my Watermelon card stock with the Large Polka Dot Impressions Folder and then using a sponge dauber and Watermelon ink, I inked up the circles. This creates a fun monochromatic feel to your project!

Convention Swap #1 - Awesomely Artistic

Hello,

Today is the first day of Inspire, Create and Share 2015 and we are just about to head over to the Convention Center to pick up our bags and line up for general session. I will be posting pictures of product displays boards, swaps, general session and so much more on my Facebook page Stamp with Anne.

I decided last week that I would make some swaps so I could swap with other demonstrator's during the convention. I ended up making 50 swaps for general swapping and then I'm in an organized swap where I had to make 45! The best thing about swapping is you meet new friends and you come home with fabulous new idea's to showcase in your classes!!

My swap today was a card that we made last week in Coffee and Cards. When I was done creating this card, I knew that I had to make it for one of my swaps!

July Blog Photo's-013

I love the soft tone to this card and all the layers!! The neat thing about the Awesomely Artistic stamp set is that it's perfect for collage stamping. What is college stamping...just randomly layering stamped images!!

Layered Letters Alphabet

Hello,

A big hello from Salt Lake City! I arrived yesterday and have been spending the time catching up with friends!! I have to say that this is one of my favourite things about Convention...is seeing my friends from all over the world!!

Today I have video for you showcasing the new Layer Letters alphabet stamp set! I have to admit, this wasn't on my wishlist when I first saw it, but after seeing all the cool possibilities that you can do with it, I have to order it during Pre-order!! And I'm so glad that I did...it ROCKS!! If you are looking for a GREAT alphabet stamp set then this is a must in your stamp collection!!

One of the cards that we made in our Birthday Stamp a Stack used the Layer Letters Alphabet stamp set! When I was browsing Pinterest, I came across a fun card that Mercedes Weber had created and I knew that I have to use it as a starting point for my card.

Awesomely Artistic

Hello,

When I first sat down with this stamp set to create, I thought I would check out Pinterest for some inspiration to see how others were using this stamp set!! The one trend that I noticed was layering of the images and random stamping. This is also known as College Stamping!!

As I was browsing, I came across this beautiful card created by Claire Daly and as soon as I saw it I knew that I had to CASE it!! Thanks Clarie for the inspiration!!

The new Mint Macaron Incolour is growing on me..I love it paired with Early Espresso for a stunning look! What colour combo do you love with Mint Macaron? I randomly stamped my images in Tip Top Taupe, Early Espresso, Sahara Sand and Mint Macaron.

Sweet Treats for Downline!!

Happy Monday!!

I hope you had a great weekend! Just to let you know that there will be NO Coffee and Cards tomorrow as I will be on my way to Salt Lake City for the Annual Stampin' Up! Convention. I can't wait to see all my friends and meet new ones!!

On our Downline Facebook group, I have been giving my downline sketch challenges once a week. These challenges are a great way to help you step out of your comfort zone and try something new!! If they participate, their name is entered into a draw for a small prize. I have two winners that we recognizes at our July meeting.

July Blog Photo's-021
I used the Mini Treat Bag framelit and the Big Shot to create these super cute treat bags. Before I assembled my bag, I stamped the star image in the middle of my bag. Then using the star framelit from the Mini Treat Bag, and the Big Shot, I cut it out the middle of the star so that it created a window!! The star greeting is from the You're So Sweet stamp set!

I love that you can see the little embellishment peaking thru the window!! What a fun way to give a gift!!
