Mojo Monday 412 - Sneak Peak Snow Place

Hello,

As you know I love sketches and love participating in a variety of sketch challenges online! I finally had a chance to play with this week's sketch over at Mojo Monday. This week's fun sketch was created by Julee. Sometimes, when I look at sketch, I can see a certain stamp set, colour combination and the greeting that I want to use.

When I first saw this sketch, I knew that I had to play with the new Snow Place bundle. This new bundle will be available starting on Sept 1. Think cold...snowman and penguins playing in the snow and the best part is there is matching framelits. So all you had to do is stamp your images and cut them out using the big shot and matching framelits..Volia...easy cutting!!

Here is Julee's sketch for the week.

And here is my take on this week's sketch....

Snow Place - Sneak Peak

Hello,

Yesterday my good friend Kimberly had a great blog post about "Don't Make Crafting So Difficulty!" She talking about crafting being overwhelming ( especially when you have you new product) or a mess in your room and not sure where to begin. Maybe you lost your Creativity MOJO, trust me this happens to all of us!!

Actually I was in there a few weeks ago, had a box of preorder, feeling overwhelmed and most of all in a crafting funk! I would walk into my studio, sit and stare out the window. I would pick up a stamp set and just draw a blank..not sure where to begin!!

I had to get out of this creativity funk and decided it was okay to just pick a stamp set and play!! Sometimes, I find either CASING a project from the Stampin' Up! Catalogue or Pinterest helps or creating a project from a Sketch. I love Sketch challenges as they are a mystery just waiting to be solve, you just need to find the missing pieces!!

Kimberly gave us a challenge yesterday on her blog to create a simple and clean...meaning it had tons of White Space. When I saw her card sketch, I knew it would work perfect with my Snow Place stamp set!!

IMG_3666

Okay seriously...is this penguin not the cutest thing ever!! And the best part is their is matching framelits for this stamp set..so you all you have to do is stamp and cut out with your framelits and big shot!!

I love how simple and clean this card is but at the same time its' oh so adorable!I I encourage you to head over to Kimberly's blog and read her blog post and take the challenge. I cannot wait to see what YOU create.  We are ALL in this together friends.  We are all here to inspire each other!!

Guy Greetings

Hi Friends!

Thanks for stopping by today! My project that I'm sharing with you today is one that we made this week in Coffee and Cards. While browsing Pinterest, I saw a card with a similar background and really liked the look of the hardwood in the background. I knew that I wanted this to be on my card. When I design for a class, I really like to show them how to use all the stamps in the set as this gives them more options when they are creating.

August Blog Photo's-014

I used the Typeset Designer Specialty paper as an accent for my card. I sponged all the edges with Early Espresso and a sponge dauber, as this help it look vintage!!

Mojo Monday 410

Hello,

I love a great challenge and this sketch provided that!! I was in the process of creating my samples for this week's Coffee and Cards and need one more card. I wanted to use the Anchor image for my last card and started to search for sketches online. I came across this sketch that Julee created over at Mojo Monday and knew it was the perfect fit!! Remember, I always say " Sketches are like puzzles, you just need to figure out the missing pieces!"

As I was designing this card, I wanted to focus on the Anchor and thought it would be fun to create a Nautical card. I used Real Red, Night of Navy and Whisper White for my colour combo!

August Blog Photo's-012

My background was stamped with the Watercolor Wash stamp set. I stamped the image in Night of Navy onto my Whisper White card stock as I wanted it to look like water. Using my favourite tool my Big Shot and Circle Framelits, I created by thin circle. I just layer two circle framelits together and ran it thru the big shot! Volia..a skinny circle!!

I hope that you can play along with some of past sketches on Mojo Monday or try out the new one that they just posted yesterday! I can't wait to give this week's sketch a try!!
