Blog Candy

Yay!!

Hello,

I hope you had a great weekend. Ours was very busy but a productive one! On Saturday the girls, my mom and I went to Port Huron for the day to do some back to school shopping. It was a great day and we were able to find tons of deals which made us all happy!!

Then we found out Saturday night that our neighbour would be starting to tape, mud and sand the basement this week, which meant yesterday the girls and I (Corrie was working) spent most of day moving my stuff upstairs and putting a lot away in storage. I'm excited as they will be starting the taping and the first coat of mud tomorrow!! I'm excited as my room is now upstairs and I love that I can just walk into my front room and start stampin! I might like it too much that I might want to stay up there!!

My card today was inspired by my friend Heather. I wanted to show my club ladies last week different ways to use the new Circle Thinlits Dies. We used the new accents on this card!

By The Tide - Father's Day Card

Hello,

I hope you had a great weekend and that you were able to spend sometime with your family. We had a nice weekend with visits with both dad's.

My dad was born in Nova Scotia and loves to eat Lobster. When I saw the lobster image in the By the Tide set, I knew that I wanted to make his Father's Day card with it. When looking on Pinterest, I saw a similar card and switched it as I didn't have all the supplies they used.

Everybunny- Card #3 and My First Video

Happy Monday!

I hope you had a great weekend!! We sure had a fun one with hockey, shopping in the states and the best part enjoying the warmer temperatures outside! We are on March Break this week and the weather is suppose to be gorgeous. We are looking forward to it!!

Every year I set goals for my business. Some of them are short term goals and others are long terms goals. One of my short term goals was learning how to shoot a video. This sure was a learning curve the last few weeks as I have to figure out the best way to shoot the video, how to edit it and how to upload it.

Last weekend Emily helped me filmed the video and then I spend most of this week trying to figure out how to edit it and transfer it to my laptop.  Well, after many attempts and trials..we finally got it. Now I know this is my first video, and I know I have things to improve on but overall it was fun!

I'm excited to say that I will be doing more video's in the future. So my video today show you how to make an Envelope using the new Simply Score Diagonal Tool.

So for my last card today, I stepped it up by adding the Scallop Oval Greeting and I made my own envelope.

Easter Blossom- Mother of Pearl technique

Happy Monday!!

I hope you had a great weekend. We sure did. It was so nice to be home for a change. We had fun just hanging out!!

I saw this cool technique in the Stampin' Success magazine (a monthly magazine for demonstrators). It showed us how to do the Mother of Pearl technique. I showed the ladies in technique club how do this and they loved it!!

Mother of Pearl Technique: Pour some Frosted White Shimmer paint on to a paper plate. Scrunch up some wax paper. Dip the paper into the paint and remove excess ink. Lightly dab all over a piece of glossy white card stock. You want to leave some white space showing. Once dry, you are going to sponge over it with ink creating a Mother of Pearl look. Then stamp your image in Staz-on ink. Now I use Aqua Painter and Ink on my to colour in my image.

Recipe: Rose Red, Whisper White and Baja Breeze card stock, Framed Tulip Impression Folder, Big Shot machine, Scallop Oval punch, Oval Punch, Glossy Paper, Easter Blossom stamp set, Colour Spritzer tool, Black marker, Aqua painter and Rose Red ink.

If you want to learn how to do some of these cool tehcniques, email me to find out details about my technique club OR how to join my team as a demonstrator!!

Have a great day,
