I hope you had a great weekend. Ours was filled with some down time, hockey, stampin and I even picked up my new table for my studio. I can't wait to share pictures with you this week!! I'm so excited that I can't wait to set it up...it's going to be my Big Shot Table!!
So, today's post is a little different... Instead of being about a card or some other creative project, it's actually about... me. The TALENTED Martha Inchley nominated me for the Creative Blog Hop. If you have not been to Martha's blog, you need to! Her blog is Beautiful and her work is FABULOUS!! Thank you Martha for the nomination! So, I have to answer 4 questions and then pass the honour on to 2 other talented people.
Question 1: What am I working on right now?
Currently, I'm working on Christmas projects for upcoming classes. I spent some time this weekend planning my upcoming classes and creating the samples. I will be sharing them this week!! I also spent some time this weekend rearranging my studio to make room for my new Big Shot Table!! I'm a firm believer if you see your products you will USE them more!! I will be sharing photo's of my new studio very soon...just need to finish moving a few pieces of furniture around.
Question 2: How does my work differ from others in my Genre?
Hmmm, good question!! When I sit down to create a project, I really try to showcase my personal style and I would have to say that is Clean and Simple. I love projects that show off the Crisp, and Clean White card!! I love adding layers and especially love using my Big Shot and my framelits on projects. I don't think I have created a card lately that doesn't have a Big Shot framelit or Impression folder on it!!!
I do it for me as it makes me happy!! I love creating projects that I can share with family and friends!! Another reason I stamp is it as it's a great stress reliever! I work full time as an Educational Assistant working one on one with children with special needs. Some days can be challenging then others and I know that 30 minutes in my studio is all I need to be rejuvenated and happy!!
I never really thought about the how, as I just do!! When I sit down to create a project one of my first things is to look for a sketch layout. Once I found my layout, then I start gathering my supplies...usually I start with a stamp set and then my Designer Series Paper. From the Designer Series Paper, I choose the coordinating colours and just start playing around till my project works for me!! Sometimes the project comes together very quickly and other times, I need to walk away from it and come back to it.
