High Tide Card and Update from my family!!!

Wanted to touch base and let you know why I have been absent on my blog for over a month now. On Monday Jan 9th, our morning started off the way that it should be with Corrie at work, the girls and I back to school. I had just arrived at school and was catching up on how everyone's holidays were. My husband was messaging me to tell me he wasn't feeling well and would be would be heading to get checked out after work!! Only little did I know that in a 20 mins my world was going to turned upside down!!

I had received a call on my phone to let me know that Corrie had collapsed at work and that an ambulance was on it's way. I left work immediately and met him at the hospital. In the meantime I had called my sister in law so she could be with me. Little did I know that I would need her support even more. Once at the hospital, I was greeted by a Social Worker and was taken to a waiting room till the doctors could come talk to me. What seem like forever, a nurse and doctor came to see us. They had walked me thru what had happen and then went on to tell me that my husband has passed away. In a matter on minutes, my world had been turned upside down as we tried to understand what had just happened. At first they thought it was a massive heart attack, but after an autopsy we found out that Corrie had passed away from an Aorta Dissection, and it's one of those medical mysteries that just happens and that there is nothing the doctor's and nurses could have done for him. It's still shocking news to handle but I know that it was instant and Corrie wouldn't had suffered and that brings me comfort knowing this!!

The girls and I have been so grateful for all the support from family and friends over the past month. We are slowly trying to adjust to our new "NORM" and this new chapter in our lives. I'm slowly starting to do more each day and trying to get back to my stamping and classes. I know this is what Corrie would he know how much I love my's my therapy!!

Last night my BFF Michelle was here and we did a little stamping with the new High Tide stamp set. The sentiments in this stamp set is perfect for us right now!! I saw a cool technique on Patty Bennett's blog and had to give it a try!! Thanks for the inspiration Patty!!

I know that we can feel the love and support from family and friends as we try to navigate through these stormy sea. I know hope will help us heal as we move forward in this new chapter of our lives. We know that we have wonderful memories of Corrie and they will always be in our hearts, plus the girls and I can feel his presence around us each day and that brings us comfort and joy!!

Thanks for listening today. I will be back this week with some projects to share with you that I had made over the holidays!!

Take Care, and have a great day,

Update on Accident!!

Happy Friday!!

I hope you are having a great start to your weekend. Sorry for being MIA the last few days, honestly not sure where those days went. It has been so busy around here that one day leads into the next. I'm finally ready to share with you the news that ROCK our world 3 weeks ago today.

I had just finished worked and was driving home, when Corrie phoned. When I answered the phone, I could tell in his voice that something was not right. He went on to tell me that he had been in an accident and went on to tell me that he was driving home from work when he was t-bone on the passenger side of the truck, causing him to loose control of the truck hit a ditch and rolled three times into a farmer's field. My initial reaction was "OMG are you okay? He told me "that his neck and shoulder blades were sore and because it was a roll over accident that he was going the hospital via ambulance." He then went onto to tell me that he thought his truck was a write off as there was a lot of damage.

I met him at the hospital and was greeted by a social worker who explain the process of what was happening and going on. I have to admit my heart sank a bit when she told me who she was. She reassured me that Corrie was okay and was just in the process of being checked over by the doctors from head to toe.

After a CT scan of the head, neck and back, along with two other xrays of his arm and hand, we had a visit from the ER doctor. They told us that all test had came back negative and that we were good to go home. They also explained that he would be sore in the days to come as he had brace for the accident.

I'm very thankful for the Angels that watching over Corrie and our family that day. He is doing alot better these day, and is still a little sore but it's getting better as each day goes on. Our days have been busy since with lots of paperwork for the insurance company, and going to phyiso twice a week. Plus we have been waiting to find out about his truck which they have written off due to the amount of damage, this is very sad for our family as we loved that truck. Corrie had customed ordered it only 2 years ago and it was our pride and joy. We had a lot of fun memories in the truck and we will miss her!! I'm excited to say that we have a new one on order and it should be here in August.

I want to say a big thank you to our family, friends, and customers that have helped us out the last few weeks. We really appreciate it and from the bottom of our heart we say " thank you" and we can't imagine life without all of you!!  I have been stamping these last few weeks as it's great way to reduce the stress and not think about what has been going on. I have tons of projects to share with you in the coming weeks!
