Global Design Project #GDP081

Hello,

Last week I had a chance to play along with this week Global Design Project #GDP081 colour sketch. This week the colour combination was the following:

I was creating a card for a special friend to let her know that I was thinking of her and knew that I wanted to use the High Tide Stamp set! This is a MUST have stamp set in your collection as you can use it for so many different occasions!!

I decided that my colour combination was going to be: Night of Navy, Whisper White and Pool Party! This combination reminds me of the ocean and they say that the smell of the ocean is good for the soul...just like stamping..its great for your soul!!!

Tips and Tricks for my card:

  • Colours that I used on my card are: Night of Navy, Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Soft Suede, and Old Olive
  • Stamp the solid image of the light house in Night of Navy and then stamp the image of the lights in Smoky Slate
  • Water was created with the water image and pool party. I just randomly stamp in different area's to create the waves in the water
  • I used the Seaside Impression Folder to add a little bit of texture to my card
  • My pattern paper is from the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper
  • My sand was created with the sand image and soft suede ink
  • Add a little bit of grass with Old Olive ink
  • I stamped my greeting on Whisper White paper with Night Of Navy ink and cut out with the Big Shot and the Stitched Shape Framelits

I can't wait to hear how my friend liked her card..I just wanted her to know that I was thinking of her and that I'm here to support her through the high and low tides of life!!!

Now, it's your turn to play along with this Gorgeous colour combination!! You can head over the Global Design Project blog to see the gallery of project created with this week's #GDP081 challenge!!

Global Design Project - #GDP080

Hello,

This past week I had a chance to play along with this week's Global Design Project - Case the Designer! This week the designer was Louise Sharp. When I first saw the sketch, I thought it would be fun to focus on the tag.

On my projects to do list was to create two Easter cards for my mom! I thought this challenge and the Basket Bunch stamp set and matching Basket Builder Framelits would work perfect for my idea!!

Here is the image that the Global Design Project team pick for us to CASE!! Now we could CASE the sketch layout, the colours, or whatever inspired us and then we were to create a project on our own!!!

I decided to use the Cupcakes and Carousels Designer Series Paper stack as my focus point. I decided on my pattern paper first and then build my card stock colour from there!!

  • colour  the bunny with Watermelon Wonder and Bermuda Bay ink with a blender pen
  • Emboss the Early Espresso piece using the Boho Chic Impression Folder and the Big Shot machine
  • Use the grass framelit from the Basket Builder Framelit set to create some grass
  • Pop us the Bunny and eggs
  • Use the Scallop Tag  Topper Punch to create the perfect scallop tag

Global Design Project #GDP042 Sketch Challenge

Hello,

I finally spent sometime in my studio for the first time in a very long time!! It's been a whirlwind few weeks and I will share more on that this week, but let's just say that stamping in my studio was very much needed and helped keep my minds off what was happening in our world!!

Of course with no stamping in a long time, I had NO crafting MOJO!! The best way that I find helps beat those crafting blues is to participate in some challenges online. I headed over to Global Design Project and was excited to see this sketch challenge by my friend Teneale Williams!! Thanks Teneale for the inspiration!!!

I had a few stamps sets sitting on my desk and when I saw this sketch I knew that Swirly Bird would be a perfect match for this sketch!! Not sure if you have seen the Swirly Bird Crazes on Pinterest, but there is so much you can do with this stamp set. I have seen birds, trees, snowman (yes snowman), sailboats, pinwheels, kites and so much more. It truly is a MUST in your collection!!

The first thing that came to my mind was a bird's nest and I thought the sketch was perfect fit for it. I used one of my new favourite colour combination for this card!!

I love the soft tones of this colour combination and can see it being used for so many different occasions. I even think this combination would be great for Christmas. (hmm, I might need to try that one out).

There are so many possibles for this sketch and I can't wait to see what you create. Looking for some inspiration, head over to the Global Designs Project website where you can check out the gallery for this sketch!! Make sure to give yourself sometime, the projects are amazing!!

Interesting in knowing what I used on this card, you can see all the supplies that I used in this project in the clickable links below.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Yes, I`m so excited that I finally stamped and can't wait to show you what I created!!

As you know that I LOVE playing along with sketch challenges and finally had time to play with this week's Global Design Project #GDP030. This week's sketch was designed my friend Teneale Williams from Australia! I love her sketches they are always stunning!!

I stamped my tea cup in Melon Mambo and die cut it out with the matching framelit and big shot machine. I love when you can stamp an image and then cut it out with the coordinating framelits and big shot machine!! Easy Peasy and you get a clean cut!!

Wondering where the scallops came from? They are from the Cutie Pie thinlits. I love when you find other uses for your framelits other then what they were meant for!!

Now it's your turn to play along with this week's challenge. You can head over the the Global Design Project website to check out all their challenges and while you are there check out the gallery for this sketch. There are lots of amazing projects up there!!
