Chill Out ~~ Kid's Club Layout

Happy Friday my friends,

I'm very excited for tonight's club. I will be sharing my love of stamping and scrapbooking with a group of lovely girls. It's my kids group. All these girls range from 8 to 11 years old. This is a great age to introduce the world of scrapbooking and teaching them how to preserve their memories for years to come!

In one more week here in Ontario, all the school will be on March Break. As this is the week, children take holidays, do fun activities, and they hang out or chill out with their friends.

 I wanted to create a layout where the girls could capture all their fun memories of the week and journal about it. As we all know that journalling is one of the most important things about scrapbooking, it tells the story and feelings of the event.

This layout uses Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Riding Hood Red and So Saffron card stock. These are the coordinating colours in the Washington Apple Designer Series Paper. The letters are cut out with the Serif Alphabet and the Big Shot machine. The tag is the new Stampin' Up! exclusive die Lots of Tags Sizzlits. The flowers are done using the Good Friend stamp set. I stamp the flower using Riding Hood Red onto Whisper White card stock. Then I punched it out with 1 1/4" circle punch. I did the same with the small circle stamp using Pumpkin Pie, then punched it out using 1" circle punch. I popped up the centres ( pumpkin pie circles) onto the Riding Hood flowers.

Snow Layout

Happy Day!! 

Since it was Family Day and a holiday here in Ontario on Monday, my girls and I were off. My friend Lori came over with her two girls for lunch and a play date. While the girls were playing, Lori and I decided to do some scrapbooking. It was so nice to sit down with her and scrapbook. This was something we hadn't done together in a while. That's the best thing about scrapbooking, you get to hang out with your best friends and chit chat!!

This was one of the Snow Day's that we had here this winter and the girls were loving the new fresh fallen snow. Daddy was out shovelling the driveway and captured these great photo's for me.

This will be one of the layouts that my Scrapper's 6 club girls are making this Thursday.

Snow much fun!!

Hello,

I hope you had a great weekend!! We sure did. It was so nice to be home for a change without a lot of errands to do. We were able to check off a lot from our to do list. The girls had a great time decorating the tree all by themselves and I have to say they did a beautiful job on it. The rest of the Christmas decorations are up, I started to write our Christmas cards and even did some baking!!

Here is another layout sample that we did last week at my Scrapper's 6 club. The girls wanted to learn how to incorporate a Wheel onto their pages. We used the Snow Wheel and had fun creating this Snowy layout. I don't have any pictures on my yet, as I'm going to take some pictures of the girl's playing in the snow this season. My plan is to put them across the pages by using a 5 by 7 and a series of 4 by 6 shots of them in the snow. The ladies loved this page!!

Happy Birthday to us!!!

Hello,

Today is an exciting day in our household!! For two reason, it's my husband Corrie's birthday and it's mine also. We were born on the same day, same year and I'm 12 hours older. This has been the joke is our house since the day that we met. At least we won't forget each other's birthday!!

Happy Birthday to the best husband ever!!

I want to share a picture with you of us last year on our birthday. My oldest daughter snapped this cute picture of us. This layout was created using the I Wish Simply Scrappin Kit!!

 

Well, my daughter's hockey team won their game yesterday afternoon, so we now play at suppertime today. Wish us luck!!

Our trip To Ontario Place

 Happy Monday my friends,

While my husband was on holiday, we decided to take the girls to Ontario Place. This amusement park is in the beautiful city of Toronto, Ont, located on Lake Ontario. The girls were so excited and had so much fun. They spent the time playing in the huge splash park, riding the Free Fall (I think they went on it a million times), the water log ride, learning how to drive a car on the Ontario Driving School course (Alison always tells me that she has her license now because she got it at Ontario Place), and enjoying the beautiful view of the CNE Tower, Lake Ontario and watching the ships on the lake. 

The one thing I find hard to scrapbook are vacation trip because you always have so many photos, and you can only fit so many on a 12 by 12 page. I create this little pull out book that will hold 7 more photo's of our incredible day and added it to my layout. I'm very please with how this layout turn out!!

Hockey Layout ~~ Chicks with Sticks

Good Morning My Friends,

Well, today we are heading home from Chicago. We should be back around supper time. I can't wait to see my girls and husband!! It's nice to go away but you sure do miss them. I have taken lots of pictures of CHA, Chicago and I will be sharing them with you next week!!

To you remember me telling you that my girls are starting Hockey this fall, and I can't wait!! I grew up watching hockey with my dad, and now my girls like to watch hockey with Papa. Last winter, both of my girls participated in Power-skating to help them get use to all the equipment and give them the basic skills of hockey. These are my favourite shots of the girls during our power-skating sessions!!

Fun in the Sun

Well, the other day I was checking out Valerie Salmon's blog and came across a bunch of sketches that she did. You can check out her blog here a www.valeriesalmon.typepad.com.

I always find it easier to start with a sketch and go from there. I ended up printing some of her sketches to use in my layouts. I don't know about you but I'm behind in my scrapbooks. I'm still working on last summer.

Both of my girls love the water, and could hang by a pool all day long. With these very hot and humid days that we had, this is when I wish I had a pool in our backyard. Oh well, maybe someday!!

These are my favourite shots of Alison last year in the pool. It's amazing to see the difference in their swimming ability each year, they just grow stronger and stronger as a swimmer.

Recipe. Taken with Teal card stock and ink, Fun in the Sun stamp set ( I used for accents on my page, I love this set), Imaginese Pattern Paper,  1 3/8 & 1 1/4 circle punches, Corner Rounder Punch for scallops, 1" circle punch and Imaginisce pattern paper.

Ribs anyone??

Happy Memorial Day to all my friends in the USA. I hope that you are enjoying your long weekend!!

Every year in our subdivision we have a RIB-FEST with our neighbours. It all started about 3 years ago when we decided to have supper with our neighbours' Darrell and Betty-Ann, and her parents. Well, word got around and the last 2 years we have had over 15 families, 15 different kinds of ribs and lots of food!!

This year we vote for the best RIBS. Our neighbour Darrell and I won for the best lip-smacking ribs!!

Here is a layout that I created to remember that fun day.

My Wish for you...

I did this layout awhile ago. I'm a huge country music fan and love listening to a variety of singers. When Rascal Flats came out with this song "My Wish", I fell in love with it. When browsing thru a scrapbook magazine, I saw a layout done with the lyrics of the song " My Wish". I just had to case this idea.

Last summer, we went up North with 3 other families from our neighbourhood. We had a blast up there. There is something about being it the middle of nowhere, and just being surrounded by gorgeous scenery. This is one of my favourite shots of my girls looking out towards Brown's Lake. I stood behind them to capture this shot as I wanted the beautiful scenery in the picture. I changed the picture to Sepia.

I printed off the lyrics to My Wish and included that as my journaling and signed the bottom Love Mommy.

March Calendar Layout~~ Ha, Ha Fool you!!

Happy April Fool's Day!! I can't believe that it's April already. I'm so ready for spring and warm weather.

I know it's the first day of April and I'm showing you my calendar layout for March. I thought I would trick you, but it's no trick, it really is my March layout.

These are pictures of my girls during power skating sessions.  I'm so excited as I finally have hockey players in my house. We decided to introduce them to power skating and PuckMaster Hockey Training sessions to get them use to skating with all the equipment on. Both of my girl's were figure skaters and they decided to hang up the figure skate and trade them in for hockey skates. So in the fall they both will join hockey teams. I can't wait to see them play a real game.

The paper is double-sided and the hockey rub-ons match the paper. They are from Scrappin Sport. I accented my pictures with black and white cardstock. I used my Quickutz die cutting machine and alphabets to spell "Girls".
