Global Design Project 093

Hello,

It's a big day in our house today as we celebrate Emily's 19th birthday. It's a little bit bittersweet, we are excited to celebrate this milestone with her but we are also sad that Corrie is not here to see it. I know that he is here in spirit with us as we celebrate this big day!!

As I was making her birthday card, I turned to this week's Global Design Project 093 challenge which happens to be a colour challenge!! I love colour challenges as the thinking is already done for you, you just need to create the project. And this week's colours are ONE of my favourite colour combinations!!

GDP093_Colour_Challenge

On my desk was the Wood Words stamp set, so I challenged myself to create a card with this set. I'm excited to share my card with you and a great little trick on creating a gift card holder inside your card!!

IMG_7155

Using the Celebrations Duo Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Big Shot machine, I embossed the word "Celebrate" on a piece of Whisper White card stock. Using the Circle image from the Wood Words stamp set, I randomly stamped Berry Burst circles on the Celebrate piece of card stock. While doing this, it helps to create the de-embossed look which create the word to stand out more!!!

IMG_7158

When first looking at my card, it looked like a normal card front, but I added an element of surprise to it. I created a belly band around my card. This adds a bit of fun to the card as to open the card, you have to pull off the belly band!!

My belly band was created with 2 1/2 by 11 piece of Pool Party card stock. I just placed my strip around my card and fold it to create the belly band. I secure the two end pieces with a piece of fast fuse adhesive!

IMG_7157

For the inside, I used the Wood Crate Framelit to create a pocket to hold a gift card. When I was looking at the little slots on the side of the crate, I thought that a gift card might fit into it, and when I tried it out, I was like bonus! I love when you can find other ways to use your products!!

IMG_7159

To create the gift card holder, cut out a wood crate using a Big Shot machine and the Wood Crate Framelit. Then using a pair of paper snips, cut off the tabs and the side tab. This will leave you with the big piece with the slot in it. Adhere to your card stock, but remember to only adhere the sides as you want the gift card to be able to slide in and out of the slots!

IMG_7160

I can't wait to see how Emily likes her card tonight!! Now it's your turn to try this fun and fresh colour combination. You can head over the Global Design Project page to check out gallery to see how other stamper's used this colour challenge in their projects!!

Thanks a Latte!!

Happy Monday!

It was a wet and rainy weekend here which meant it was a great time to stay indoor and stamp! I have been busy prepping for a few events that I have coming up in July! One of the bundles that I was playing with was the new Coffee Break Suite! I'm not a Coffee drinker but this bundle is at the top of my must have from the new Annual catalogue!!

IMG_7092

One of our favourite drinks to get when we head to Starbucks is a yummy cold frappuccino! We love that is comes in different flavours and the extra topping on the top is the best!!

I have listed the colour combination that I used below for you! I pulled these colours right from the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper pack. Did you know that Stampin' Up! lists the coordinating colours for you on the back on the paper pack?

To create my cup, I stamped the cup image in Pear Pizzaz and stamp it onto a piece of Whisper White scrap. Then using my Big Shot machine, Magnetic Platform and the Coffee Cups Framelits Die, I die cut the cup out. Then I stamp the whip topping in Smoky Slate onto a piece of Whisper White scrap and die cut it out with Big Shot machine and the Coffee Cup Framelits.

To create the lid, I die cut the lid by cutting it out with a piece of Vellum Card stock, a Big Shot machine and the Coffee Cup Framelits. My straw, I stamped in Real Red and cut with out the Straw Framelits, then I took my Real Red marker and just went around the edges.

I add a little bit of splatter with my Early Espresso Marker!

IMG_7095

Love, love, the new Corrugated Elements! This adds that little extra detail to your project!! I can't wait to share the other project with you but you will have to wait a little longer to after my event in July!!

I have listed all the supplies that I have used for you at the bottom of this post, and the best part is that you can either click on the clickable images, or the supply list PDF.

Freshly Made Sketches 292

Hello,

Over the weekend, I had a chance to play along with last weeks sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. This sketch was designed by Cécile and it was a fun one. At first, I was like "what am I going to do with that sketch?" After playing around with a few different colour combinations, I finally came up with this!!

IMG_7110

I had some new product on my table and I thought why not use them! LOVE, LOVE the new Pinewood Planks 3D Dynamic Texture Impression Folder! The impressions are so deep and real!!

I went with the colour combination of Berry Burst, Basic Black and Whisper White. These colours together are so rich and stunning!!

My pattern paper is from the Color Theory Designer Series Pack and the Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper pack!!

Doesn't this chair look so inviting? Makes me just want to sit outside with a nice cold glass of Ice Tea!! I used the Colorful Seasons stamp set!! The greeting is from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set!

I hope that you will head over to Freshly Made Sketches to give this sketch a try!!

Thailand Achievers Blog Hop June - Coffee Cafe Bundle

Hello,

Thailand Grand Vacation Blog Hop-2

Welcome to the Thailand Incentive Trip Achievers Blog Hop for June 2017. This month our theme is the "Our Annual Catalogue Favourites". The new Annual Catalogue is incredible! We want to give you some more ideas on how you can make the most of all your wonderful new products or to show you how to use ones that you haven't purchased as yet.

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Anne Granger or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Anne Granger and I'm from Canada!!

One of my favourite bundles from the Annual Catalogue is the Coffee Cafe! The funny thing about this is that I'm NOT a Coffee drinker. Corrie was a big coffee drinker and loved his Tim Horton's and me on the other hand love my hot chocolate!! But the girls and I have discovered Teavana Iced Tea Lemonade drinks from Starbucks and we are hooked!!

IMG_7113

Now when we do go to Starbucks for a nice treat, Emily loves to get her Frappuccino , Alison and I are hooked on their Mango Black Iced Tea Lemonade!!

IMG_7114

I can't stress how important it is to take pictures and document those little moments in life. You just don't want to document events like birthdays, or holidays. You want to document those little moments from your day to day interactions!

Our new Memories and More product line is the perfect way to do that. I'm a big fan of traditional scrapbooking but love to add the quick and easy pocket pages to my albums! You get the best of both worlds!!

I decided to use the new Coffee Cafe Bundle ( Coffee Cafe stamp set and Coffee Cups Framelits Dies), the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper, and Corrguated Elements to create my pages and I LOVE how it turned out!! This new bundle is a MUST in our collection. There is so much you can do with this bundle, you can create cards, scrapbook pages, gift cards, treat bags, and 3D items. I can't wait to share the other projects that I have made with this set with you!!

Thanks for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don't want to miss. Remember that currently you are at my blog - Anne Granger, so check the blog hop line up list to see who is next in the list.

I have listed all the supplies that I have used for you at the bottom of this post, and the best part is that you can either click on the clickable images, or the supply list PDF.

Tranquil Tulips - Hostess Stamp Set

Hello,

I spent some time stamping this weekend as I find it helps with the healing and gets me through those stormy days. I have a pile of stamps that I need to stamp with before they can go on my shelf. One of those stamp set was the new Hostess Stamp set called "Tranquil Tulips."

IMG_7107

Love, love, love it!! I had to admit that in past catalogues, I usually don't invest in flowers stamps as I feel that I already had to many. But since I put new gardens in this past spring, I have to say my love for flowers have carried over into my crafting!! Just looking at them, puts a smile on my face!!

IMG_7108

My colour combination is Bermuda Bay, Black, Lemon Lime Twist and Peekaboo Peach. This colour combo is fresh and fun!

Want to recreate my card, you will need the following:

  • Bermuda Bay card stock - 4 1/4 by 11, score at 5  1/4
  • Basic Black card stock - 3 by 4
  • Big Shot Machine and the Garden Trellis Impression Folder
  • Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper pack 3/4 by 4
  • Layering Ovals Framelits - Scallop is in Peekaboo Peach, and then one in Whisper White
  • Lace Doilies
  • Tranquil Tulips Hostess stamp set
  • Lemon Lime Twist and Peekaboo Peach Ink Pads
  • Memento Ink
  • Daisy Delight stamp set

One tip for the Tulips, is the I stamp the solid image in the Peekaboo Peach ink but before I stamped onto my Whisper White card stock, I stamped off on my grid paper to give it a softer tone on my project. Then I stamped the outline tulip in Peekaboo Peach ink, these helps create the two tone look!!

I have listed all the supplies that I have used for you at the bottom of this post, and the best part is that you can either click on the clickable images, or the supply list PDF.

High Tide Swoosh Technique

Hello,

Last week, while checking out my friend Patty's blog, I came across this cool technique that she showed cased. I thought it really cool and wanted to give it a try. When I saw the technique, I vision a card made with the High Tide stamp set and the swoosh technique behind it.

IMG_7057

The swoosh technique was done to create my water in the background behind my lighthouse!! This is such a cool technique and I can't wait to share the other card with you!!

The colours that I used were: Soft Sky, Pool Party and Marina Mist! I love how it looks like the tide is rolling in towards the shoreline.

I stamped the Highlight in Real Red with the solid image and Smoky Slate with the outline image. This creates the shadow effect on the lighthouse! My sand was stamped in Soft Suede and then I add some Old Olive grass randomly over the sand.

Want to recreate my card, you will need the following products:

  • Pool Party Card stock - 5 1/2 by 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4
  • Pool Party Card Stock - 4 by 5 1/4
  • Dapper Denim Card Stock - 1 by 4
  • Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack - 3 by 4
  • Watercolour Paper - 3 by 4
  • Stampin' Spritzer filled with water
  • Clear Block C
  • Pool Party, Soft Sky and Dapper Denim ink pads
  • Smoky Slate and Real Red ink pads
  • Black Archival Ink
  • Memento Ink pad
  • Hightide Stamp Set
  • Better Together Stamp set

My friend Patty has a really good video showcasing this video. Click on the link here to watch it. I'm going to warn you...it's very addicting!! There are so many different colour possibilities that you can do with it!!

I have listed all the supplies that I have used for you at the bottom of this post, and the best part is that you can either click on the clickable images, or the supply list PDF.

Tuesday Tip - Clear Mount Stamps

Hello,

Welcome to another Tuesday Tip session!! Have you ever inked up your stamp and when you go to stamp, the rubber stamp falls off the block? I have had this happen to me a few times and when I saw this trick on Pinterest from my fellow demonstrator friend Frenchie, I had to give it a try!!

At first, I was like what..that won't work! But, I picked up some Bee Wax lip balm and gave it a try..OMG..it's works like magic!! The stamp stays on the block and doesn't fall off. A little tip, don't put to much wax on, or the stamp will slip off the block!!

I create a photo tutorial for you to show you this cool technique!!

Collage2

I hope you found this tip helpful and I would love to hear your thoughts on it? I would love to hear from you...any tips you would like to learn about for upcoming Tuesday Tips, please leave me a comment or send me a message and I will add them to my list!!
