Creative Elements Birthday Card- Embossed Kisses Technique

Hello,

I hope you had a great weekend. Sorry for not posting yesterday but I ended up coming down with the flu late Saturday night. So I spent Mother's Day on the couch feeling yucky. The girls were so sad, as they got up early to make me breakfast in bed. I told them they could celebrate it next weekend when I was feeling better. I'm feeling better today, thank goodness!!

I wanted to share the card that we made this month at Technique Club. We learned the Embossed Kisses technique. This is so cool!!

First you ink up a solid image stamp, then ink up an embossing folder. I used the negative side for my project. Now press the stamp firmly into the embossing folder and lift the stamp. You now have transfer the image from the embossing folder onto your stamp. Stamp your image onto your project, press firmly to transfer the image. How cool is that!!

Stain Glass Technique

Fresh Vintage

So we didn't get the big snow storm they were calling for but instead we got tons of rain!! Seriously, enough with the rain!!

I wanted to share the last card that we made this month at Technique. It's called Thumping. You stamp your image in a light colour inkpad and then using a darker colour marker, you start thumping it all over. When you stamp your image, you get a two tone image! Very Cool!!

Recipe: Very Vanilla and Lucky Limeade card stock, Everyday Enchantment DSP, Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon, 2 1/2" Circle Punch, Fresh Vintage stamp set, Lucky Limeade ink, Not Quite Navy marker and ink and Tea Shoppe stamp set.

Birthday Card

Happy Friday!

I hope you are having a great day! I'm looking forward to the relaxing this weekend and stamping in my studio. I have a few projects that I want to work on.

I wanted to share the other technique we did this month at club. I wanted to show the ladies our new Scented Embossing Powder that we sell. OMG, they are so yummy!!We now have embossing powder that smells like Cherries, Vanilla and Melons.

My project today uses the new Mouthwatering Stamp set, the new Sweet Shoppe DSP and the new scented Cherry Embossing Powder.

Faux Frosting Technique

Yesterday was my first class of the year and it felt so good to stamp again with all my club ladies!! There was lots of laughing and chattering going on! This is why I love my job!!!

I wanted to show case some of the fun new products in the Occasions Mini during our class. While blog hopping last week, I came across this cool technique on Barb's blog and knew that I had to show the ladies this WOW technique. Thanks Barb!!

The technique that we learned today was Faux Frosting and it works perfect with the new Sweet Cake Stamp set. For this technique, you mix 1:1 ratio of White Embossing Powder and Dazzling Diamonds in a container. Shake it up good. Stamp your cupcake image. Now using Multipurpose Tombow glue create swirls on the icing part (you want it to look like icing) and then sprinkle your mixed powder on it. Shake off excess powder. Using a Heat Tool, heat the embossing powder mix, when you see the powder start to bubble, take the heat off and let it go down, and they reheat again. Do this a few times till you get the desired look. WOW..is all I have to say as it looks like real frosting!!

Recipe: Early Espresso, Whisper White, and Pool Party card stock, Labels Framelits, Big Shot Machine, Heat Tool Gun, White Embossing Powder, Dazzling Details glitter, Tombow Glue, Sweet Cake stamp set, Lucky Limeade Ribbon, and Sweet Shoppe DSP.

Crayon Rubbed Embossed Technique

Crayon Resist Technique

Today is going to be a fun day!! I have my technique club this morning, then we are going to our local fair and then we have hockey!! It's a busy one but a fun one!!

For technique club this month, we are learning how to do crayon resist but using it in two unique ways!!

My first project was made by my friend Heather and as soon as I saw it I knew that we had to do it. We stamped our leaves in Soft Suede, and then using a white crayon, we outline the veins in the leaves. Then we sponge our card stock with more mustard and soft suede ink. Once we were happy with the results, we wipe off the excess ink with paper towel. The cool thing about this technique is that the ink won't stick to the wax!

The other thing with this technique is that you must use glossy white card stock!!

Recipe: Pool Party, More Mustard, Soft Suede and Whisper White card stock, Spice Cake DSP, Pool Party Ribbon, Paper Piercer tool, Mat Pack, Decorative Label Punch, Oval Punch, Modern Label Punch, and Glossy White paper, French Foliage stamp set, Perfect Words Hostess set, Soft Suede and More Mustard ink.

Gently Falling Baby Wipes Technique

Last week at our technique club, I had fun showing the ladies the Baby Wipe Technique. I have done this technique in the past but knew I had to show this group how to do it using my favourite fall set: Gently Falling!!

I can't believe how real my leaves look!! I don't know if I told you but Fall is my favourite season!! I love the cooler days, the beautiful colours in the leaves and all the fun events that only happen in the fall!!

Baby Wipe Technique: Fold a baby wipe in half and then again. Using Reinker, drop a few drops of your light colour first onto the baby wipe and then repeat with the darker colour. Then take your stamp and stamp it into the baby wipe and then onto your project. The cool thing about this is you can create any colour of ink pad that you want!! How fun is that!!!

Recipe: Soft Suede, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, and More Mustard card stock, Hostess Stamp Happiest Birthday Wishes, 1 3/4" circle punch, Soft Suede 1 1/4" Ribbon, Baby Wipes, Gently Falling stamp set, More Mustard and Cherry Cobbler reinker.
