Beate Weekend Sketch

Good Day my Friends,

I was so excited yesterday when I sat down to stamp just for the fun of it. All last week, when I was down working in my studio, I was busy preparing projects for classes and clubs. It's been a long time since I did Beate's Weekend sketch and it felt good to just design a card for the fun of it.

I had fun with this sketch. I used the new Pocket Silhouettes stamp set along with the new Urban Garden Designer Series Paper. I wasn't sure about the colour combo but I'm glad that I decided to use Basic Grey. As this colour combo is beautiful together. The coordinatings colours for the Urban Garden paper is Basic Grey, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy. Thanks Beate!!!

Recipe: Baja Breeze, Basic Grey, and Whisper White card stock, Urban Garden D.S.P, Heard from the Heart stamp set, Pocket Silhouettes stamp set, Kiwi Kiss ink, Scallop Punch, 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" circle punches.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,

Weekend Sketch #56

Hello My Friends,

I hope you had a great weekend. Ours was very busy as both girls were in Playoffs. We were at soccer field all day Saturday and on Sunday.

I had a chance last night to play along with last Friday's Weekend Challenge #56 by Beate. I really the new Cupcake Wheel that is out. I had to try it out last night and had fun colouring in the yummy cupcakes with Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette and my blender pens. When you use your blender pens with the new In-colours it's like having your own Incolour markers.

It's a very simple card, but I want to focus on the cupcakes at the top!!

Recipe:All supplies Stampin' Up!! ~~ Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red card stock and ink, Scallop Square Punch( new punch), Best Yet(Level 1 hostess set, love this set), Cupcake wheel, and blender pen.

Have a great day,

I'm so glad that Beate is back with her Weekend Sketch Challenge. We sure did miss you Beate, welcome back!! I love these challenges as it makes you think outside your creative zone and challenges you to try new things. You can check out her sketch here.

Yahoo, it's Friday and Weekend Sketch time!!

This week just flew by. I can't believe that we only have 13 more days left of school. I'm looking forward to being home with my girls for the summer months. It was a very hot and humid day here in Southwestern Ontario. I hope you were able to stay cool!!

I had time tonight to work on Beate's weekend sketch. My colour scheme came from the Simply Scrappin Kit Summer Days. I love the bright colours in this kit!!

Recipe: Wild Wasbi, Real Red, Bashful Blue and Whisper White card stock, Live your Dream stamp set, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Old Olive markers, and Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

The ribbon is the new Stripred Grosgrain Ribbon. If you would like to try out this ribbon check out the Ribbon Swap details here at http://stampwithanne.typepad.com/stamp_with_anne/2008/06/ribbon-share-swap.html.

Here is the Weekend Sketch:

I hope you are having a great day.

2 Challenges in one

I decided to combine this weeks Splitcoast challenges into one. This weeks colour challenge was to use Certainly Celery, Soft Sky and Blue Bayou.

I thought I would used these colours with Beate's weekend sketch. I wanted to make this card fun so I decided to add a shaker box.

I coloured the flower petals from Live your Dream stamp set with a blender pen and Blue Bayou ink, and the stem was done using Certainly Celery markers and stamped onto Whisper White card stock. The circles were cut out with my Nestablitlites dies. I then punch out a 1 3/8 circle in the middle of the Certainly Celery card stock and cover it with a transparency piece. I then added Dimensional dots all around the circle(to make a wall) and added micro beads. I then adhere the flower circle piece onto the Certainly Celery piece. Now you have created a cute little shaker box.

Here is the Weekend Sketch.

Sorry this post is so late tonight. We have been working on our deck this afternoon and into the evening. We had to dig up all the sod so that we can level out the dirt for the deck base. I'm sure I will pay tomorrow morning with my back for hauling all the sod into a pile. I will have pictures to show you tomorrow of all us on working on this stage of the deck.

Have a wonderful night!

Weekend Challenge Time #48

Well, it's been a relaxing day around here since it's a holiday here in Canada. The weather outside is not so nice and very cold. It's a great day to hang inside. I had a few hours this afternoon to work on my sketch for this week's challenge.

I really like the flowers from the Close as a Memory stamp set and the fact that you can colour the flowers in using your markers. I love using my markers to colour images to create a multiple colour look. I decided to use the flowers and make a birthday card. I really like the combo of Close to Cocoa and Bashful Blue. I've seen this colour combo showing up all over clothes these days and I love it!

Here is my card.

Recipe: Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla, and Close to Cocoa card stock, Close as a Memory Stamp set, Bashful Blue and Old Olive marker, and Hugs and Wishes stamp set.

Hope you are having a great day!! Thanks for stopping by.

Weekend Sketch Card #47

Happy Monday!! Well, it's a rainy day here this morning, what a great day to stay inside and scrapbook!! You know what I will be doing later....I really need to work on the 50th album for my in-laws.

I had a chance to work on Beate's weekend sketch on the weekend. Here's what I came up with.

Dscn3564 I used Pumpkin Pie card stock as my base. Layer it with Old Olive and Bashful Blue card stock. Added a strip of Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper and then the new Striped Pumpkin Pie ribbon( I love this ribbon...so bright and it just screams fun).

Using the Coluzzle Cutter, and the oval template, I cut out an oval shape. I distress the edges with Pumpkin Pie ink. I used the Level 3 hostess set called Time Well Spent.  I stamped the saying on to my oval shape and colour it in using my Pumpkin Pie and Bashful Blue marker. I popped this up on the card using Dimensional dots.  I stamped the butterfly image onto Whisper White card stock with black ink and coloured it in using my Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive markers. I bent the wings to make it look like the butterfly was flying around on the card and popped it up on the card with Dimensional dots also. I added a little stitch on the card as if the butterfly was swirling around. Voila, my card for the sketch challenge. I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Here is the sketch:

I think this sketch would also make a great scrapbook page. I plan on trying this out as a scrapbook page and I will show you once it's completed!! I don't know about you, but I'm behind in my books, and need to start working on them.

Have a wonderful day!!

Weekend Sketch # 44

I finally got around to making my card for this week's Weekend Sketch. I have decided that this is my favourite pattern in the Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper. I just can't get enough of it. I will have to order more before it's gone at the end of May. Once the warm weather settles in, I can't help to think about all the yummy fruits that will be coming into season. One of my favourites is Strawberries and why not dip them in Chocolate for even more of a yummy experience!!

Well, you probably guessed that my card has those 2 combo's on it. Well, you are right!! Here is what I came up with for the challenge. I love this Sketch, I will be using it more on future cards. Thank you Beate!!

Dscn3372 I created the Dipped Strawberries by using my markers to colour in the strawberry stamp. I coloured in the red part, then went over just the bottom half with my Chocolate Chip marker and the stem was coloured in with Old Olive. I stamped " A Best Friend is someone who brings out the best in You" in the bottom corner.

Recipe: Real Red, Old Olive, and Whisper White Card stock, Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper, Scallop Punch, 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" circle punch, Tart and Tangy stamp set, Real Red, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive markers, and Full of Life stamp set.

I hope you had a great weekend!!!

Sketch for you

Happy Sunday to you!! It has been a busy weekend around here for us. I had a chance this afternoon to work on my card for this week's challenge.

Here is my card:

Dscn3344 I used the One of a Kind stamp set and the Boho Blossom punch to create the flowers. I added Dew Drops in the middle of each one. I made the  scallop rectangle using my new Nestabilities die-cut shapes. I stamped "You are One of a kind" in Purely Pomegranate in the middle of the rectangle.

Recipe: Purely Pomegranate and Pretty in Pink card stock, One of a kind stamp set, Boho Blossom Punch, Dew Drops, Rectangle Scallop Nestabilities, Purely Pomegranate and Pretty in Pink classic ink.

Enjoy the rest of you evening.

Sketch Time

Dscn3290 What a gorgeous sunny day! Its so nice to see everyone outside enjoying the sunshine. :)

I was able to grab a few minutes to play in my stamp room this afternoon while the family was outside.

This is what I can up with for Beate's weekend sketch.

I just can't get enough of this Tart and Tangy set along with the Summer Picnic Designer Series paper. I will have to stock up on this paper before it's gone in a month. This has to be my favourite pattern the flowers. I wish that Stampin' Up! would make a pkg of this pattern alone!!

I matted the Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper onto Bashful Blue card stock. Using my White Gel-Pen, I stitched around the edges and then glue this onto my Real Red card stock base. Using my Real Red, Old Olive, and Chocolate Chip markers, I colour in the strawberry. I gave a little huff on to the stamp to re-moisten the ink and stamped it onto Whisper White card stock. I wanted to create a strawberry that was just dipped in Chocolate!! YUMMY!! Using my 1 1/4" circle punch, I punched it out. I then layer it onto a Real Red 1 3/8"circle and onto a Old Olive Scallop. I stamped Happy Birthday with Basic Black ink in the bottom corner. This card screams "Summer Fun" to me.

Recipe: Tart and Tangy Stamp Set, Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper, Bashful Blue, Whisper White and Real Red card stock, Real Red, Old Olive, and Chocolate Chip markers, 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" circle punch, scallop punch, White Gel Pen, Basic Black ink, and Happy Birthday stamp from Family Phrases.

Have a wonderful evening.
