Fancy Fold Blog Hop - Santa Sleigh Pop Up Book

This is was the first time that I did a Pop Up book and had to turn this tutorial on Splitcoaststamper to help me create my card today. After a few scrap paper runs, and templates, I finally figure it out! Let me tell you this card is so fun and unique!!

The Santa Sleigh bundle was sitting on my desk and I thought this would be the perfect card to use this set on!! My card base is 6 by 12 score at 6". I then cut another piece of Crumb Cake card stock 5 3/4 by 5 3/4 for my next layer and ran this though the Big Shot with the Cable Knit Impression Folder. I love the deep impression this folder gives. Plus it gives me that warm and cozy feeling that the holidays brings!!

I stamp my tree onto Garden Green card stock with Garden Green ink and my sleigh onto Cherry Cobbler cards sock with Cherry Cobbler ink. Using my Santa Sleigh Dies and my Big Shot, I cut them. This is one of my favourite things about framelits, you always get a clean cut!!

My new Stitched Shapes Framelits arrived the other day and I couldn't wait to use them!! My scallop frame is from the Layering Circle Collection and the White stitched square is from my Stitched Shapes Framelits. My greeting and snowflake are from the Tin of Tags stamp set.

Now here comes the magic...when you open the card, the inside POPS like it's a story book!!!

How fun is that!! When I was planning this card, I have vision the night before Christmas and the stocking were hung by the tree waiting for them to be filled!!

My first panel was created using the greeting from the Warmth and Cheer stamp set!!

My second panel was created with the Christmas Pines stamp set, the Santa Sleigh Bundle and the Hearth and Home thinlits! I embossed my white piece with the Brick Embossing folder as I wanted it to look like a fireplace. My stocking were coloured with my markers and I used Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake.

I added the Bright Candy dots to my tree to so they would look like ornaments. Of course I had to have a present under the tree!! I don't know about you but I LOVE the festival season and can't wait to start decoration for the festival season!!

Fancy Fold Blog Hop- Christmas Pines Secret Message Card

This is was the first time that I did a secret fold card and had to watch this video by France Martin from Frenchiestamps to learn how to do it. After a few plays and rewinds, I finally figure it out! Let me tell you this secret card is so fun and unique!!

When creating the card, I thought it would be best if the outside was embossed with a design on it and decided the Holly Embossing folder would be the perfect fit for my card.

I found the easily way to keep my card close was by creating a belly band for it. The Emerald Envy Belly Band was 1 1/4 by 8 1/2 and the Present and Pinecones Designer Series Paper was 1 by 8 1/2.

Now here comes the magic part of this card also known as the secret part! Each of my Whisper White strips were weave in and out of the Cherry Cobbler card stock to create a unique window with 4 white square on one side and 4 on another! I decorated each square with images from the Christmas Pines stamp set and matching Pretty Pines Thinlit Dies. I used the colour combination of Emerald Envy, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and White as these are the coordinating colour in the designer series paper pack.

Another panel with 4 more whisper white squares with 4 different images on that. Is that not the coolest thing ever?? I added a little bit of Wink of Stella to my pine cone to give it a little bit of shine!!

I tried to capture the secret part to this card and have two more pictures to share with you on how it works. Here is the first part of the secret panel section.

And here is the second part of the secret panel!! To find the second part of the secret panel, you have to pull apart the middle section to reveal the secret layer. How cool is that??

Fancy Fold Blog Hop: Peek a Boo Hidden Message Card

I love that this blog hop is challenging me to step outside by creative zone and create projects that I have never tried before! To be honest, I have seen Peek a Boo cards but have never made one before. After watch a few videos on this unique fold, it was time to give it a try. It was easier then I thought, I know that I will be giving this fancy fold a try in the future!!

My project today is a little sneak peak of new product that will be featured in the new Holiday Catalogue that will be starting on Sept 1. As a demonstrator, I was able to pre-order on August 2 and I couldn't wait to get my hands on my new goodies. On top of my list was the new Cookie Cutter Bundle that consist of the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set and Cookie Cutter Builder punch along with the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper and the Candy Cane Lane Baker Twine.

For my outside layer, I started with a piece of Crumb Cake card stock and using my Big Shot machine and the Holly Impression Folder, I embossed my layer to give it some textured in the background. Then I cut two strips of the Candy Cane Lane designer series paper and using the Triple Banner Punch, I punched one end to create the banner look. Then using my Layering Ovals and the Big Shot machine, I cut a Oval in Whisper White card stock. Then using the new Candy Cane Christmas Stamp set, I stamped my greeting in Real Red.

Then using the Gingerbread image from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp, I stamped my image in Early Espresso onto a piece of Whisper White scrap. Then using the Cookie Cutter Punch, I punched him out. I added some Real Red Enamel Shapes to create his buttons and then popped him up onto my oval. I went wild with my Candy Cane Lane Baker Twine behind my circle, I guess I wanted it to look like my gingerbread man got into some mischief and created a mess with the twine. LOL I then adhere this to the front of my card base that measured 5 1/4 by 11 1/4, score at 4 and 8.

Now here comes the magic part of this card...the inside!!

I chose to keep my inside clean and simple as I wanted to focus on the hidden message. As you can see right now, all you see is a scallop oval with a blank inside. But wait...if you move the card up and down...this happens....

Surprise...a Hidden message appears. I have to admit after I created this card, I just stood here playing with it for a few minutes watching that little greeting disappear and reappear!! I can't wait to make another one of these card!!

My inside piece was decorated using the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series paper, and the Layering Oval Framelits. I used the greeting from the Oh, What fun stamp set. This was a set that carried over from last year!! Watch for my more fun cards with Fancy Fold in the future!! Fancy Folds: Lever Card

I have to admit I have never made one of these cards before and was a little nervous at the beginning. After watching a few video's and I had an idea in mind and thought why not give it a try!! I'm so glad that I did...I LOVE how it turned out!!

My project today focuses on the Pop of Paradise stamp set and the new Flirty Flamingo Incolour. I started with a piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock that was 4 1/4 by 11, and score at 5 1/2. Using the new Layering Square Framelits and the Big Shot machine, I cut out a scallop square in the middle of my card. Then using the Large Polka Dot Textured Impression Embossing Folder, I embossed the front of my card with polka dots.

Next, it was time to decorate the inside panel of the card. First I started by cutting a piece of Whisper White card stock 4 by 9 1/2 and score it at 3, 6, and 9 inches. After folding the panels back and forth and using my bone folder to crease the score lines I was ready to trim the end piece and decorate. The little piece at the 9 inch score line, you are going to cut about 3/4 inch in from the ends to create little tags. Once you have those little tags, then you are going to cut out the middle but leaving the tags as this is what attaches to the inside of your card.

Once I had my insert ready, it was time to decorate it. It's easier to stamp your images first before you adhere to the card. I wanted to carry the Tropical theme inside so I stamped the palm tree leaves in Pear Pizzaz at the top of my card. The greeting was stamped using Memento Ink. The flamingo was stamped with Flirty Flamingo ink near the bottom of my card. Once I was done stamping, it was time to adhere the insert to the inside of my card.

Last thing that I did, was decorate the front of my card. Using my Layering Square Framelits and my Big Shot machine, I cut out a square in Whisper White card stock. The neat thing about these layering square framelits, is that you have 19 different sizes to choose from!! I then stamped Palm tree leaves in Pear Pizzaz along with two small leaves. I wanted to cut them out and pop them up so I could add some depth to my palm tree. I wanted it to look like the leaves were swaying in the breeze!! Once I had my leaves in place, then I stamped the flamingo in Flirty Flamingo ink. Adhere this to my black scallop square and then adhere it to my insert. My last piece to completing my card was to add the greeting. I stamped the greeting in Memento ink onto a piece of Whisper White card stock. Then using the 1 3/8 inch circle punch, I punch out my greeting and added it to my card with a dimensional.

I had so much fun creating this card and I have a few more card idea that I want to create this template. You will see those post on my blog in the next few weeks!!
